Trick or Treat!

You know the season is upon you when your two year old can't stop singing... Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me...underwear. Ok, ok, so he's not completely accurate, but that's Brady's fault. As you know the saying goes, Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat. (now the kids have added) If you don't, I don't care, I'll pull down your underwear. So Colby had a lot of it right. : )

The evening started with painting Colby's face. He was so excited to be a lion. Of course he roared and pounced on everyone the moment that he put his costume on. I couldn't believe how well he sat still while I worked on him. This picture also reminded me of how blond his hair still is. We're wondering if Grandpa Steve's and Grandma Sharon's blond genes are strong enough to defeat our brunette ones.
Brady wanted to be Spiderman, of course. He hasn't seen the movie yet, so he is unaware that he is the "bad" Spiderman. Oh well, I'm sure the kids will tell him soon enough.
I wish they made this costume in my size. It was all fleece and was a seperate coat and pants. Comfy! He was warm too!

Pumpkin Carving

The weather has been pretty warm lately, so we put off carving our pumpkins to delay the inevitable rot. The boys were so excited. This is the first year that Brady willingly scooped the guts out of his own pumpkin. Colby dug for a while but decided he would rather ride his scooter around the garage. He did however tell me how he wanted his pumpkin's face to look.

Bi-zi Pumpkin Patch 2007

We took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch with a large group of friends this year.

Anthony and Brady took quite an interest in a duck who was splashing and flappy in "less than clean" water. It was actually green.
Todd found a rotting sunflower seed and took joy in throwing seeds at us.
Brady found a pumpkin that was just his size.

Colby had been scoping out the animals at the Pumpkin Patch every morning and night when we drove by. He was so excited to pet and feed them.

Both of the boys are animal lovers.

Of course, the sheep are his favorite. Baaa...

The hay bale maze is always one of Brady's favorites. He helped Colby make it through.

Next up, the hay bale mountain. It's full of tunnels that Brady loves to crawl through. Colby wasn't quite ready this year. He was however willing to climb to the top.

Zoo Trip

It was such a beautiful day on September 23rd, the first day of fall, that we decided to get in one last trip to the zoo before the cold and rain set it. We even made it on the train.

We love being zoo members. We try to make it there every other week in the summer, but with vacations and crummy weather, we just didn't get there often enough this year.

The boys always love to pose on the animal statues.

The boys were very sad upon our arrival to find out that it was the last day of the Alaska Tundra exhibit. The boys have loved it for years but they're closing it down to build the new lion exhibit that will open in a few years. Fortunately, a wolf was out, which is rare, I think it's the first time any of us have seen him. Poor skinny old guy!

Todd & Heather Go to Michigan...again

Well, it was our 3rd trip in a year, but still a total blast. We left the boys home, thanks Mema, and flew in and out in 3 days. We caught a Tiger's game on Friday night. This picture with Paws is for the boys, I promise.

The sky got a little scary at one point. Todd kept saying tornado, but the local next to me said no. I still had to take a picture, it was ORANGE! It poured for about ten minutes and then the game was back on. The Tigers beat the Mariners. Booyah!
On Saturday we went to a game at the Big House in Ann Arbor. Home of the Michigan Wolverines. Todd was thrilled. The stadium is huge. There were nearly 110,000 people there. That's double the capacity of many stadiums. It took 20 minutes to come in or out during breaks. It was unreal.

Brady's First Day of School

Brady was very excited about his first day of school. He was most excited about taking a lunch box and getting to eat lunch at school. He was a little sad when I dropped him off but by the second week things are great.
